Professional Development
Broad Residents work full-time in a school district, charter management organization, or federal/state department of education. Simultaneously, they participate in a professional development program designed to support the transition into a career in education management and to provide the knowledge necessary to make a significant impact on student achievement. The curriculum ensures that Residents understand the context of urban education and the best organizational practices from the private and public sectors.
At the end of The Broad Residency, participants will be able to:
- demonstrate and apply knowledge about how urban school systems work and can be improved
- demonstrate the management and leadership skills to execute high-impact change initiatives in urban education
- become part of a thriving network of reform leaders in public education
- leverage their knowledge, experiences, and network to continue their management career in education
